My stay at The Dewberry Charleston was a mix of highs and lows. The hotel is beautiful, showcasing mid-century design and providing a comfortable atmosphere. However, I faced some issues with noise from the lounge and the rooftop bar experience was a bit underwhelming. Overall, the hotel’s charm and excellent staff made for a nice visit, despite a few hiccups.

Rooms
8.0
The rooms are tastefully decorated and spacious, boasting elegant details like embroidered slippers. However, there was some noise from the lounge below, which detracted from my experience.
Service
9.0
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. They promptly addressed my room concerns with a kind attitude and offered a room upgrade, which I appreciated.
Location
10.0
Situated right on Marion Square, the location is convenient for exploring downtown Charleston. With a quick walk to attractions and eateries, it was ideal for my mother/daughter trip.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast at the hotel was good, highlighted by must-try biscuits. However, my experience at the rooftop Citrus Club was disappointing due to drink quality and seating arrangements.
Facilities
8.0
The amenities were solid, although the gym was smaller than I expected. I didn’t get a chance to visit the spa, but the communal spaces were inviting.

7.4/10

I really enjoyed my five-night stay at The Dewberry Charleston. The hotel itself has a sleek, modern design with spacious rooms that boast high ceilings and luxurious marble bathrooms. However, I experienced some service inconsistency, particularly with breakfast at Henrietta's where my orders were incomplete and coffee refills were slow. Overall, I found it to be a good stay with a charming ambiance.

Rooms
9.0
My room was well-appointed with stylish decor and included a clothes steamer that worked wonders on my wrinkled clothes. I appreciated the turndown service with a note about the next day's weather. However, the armoire was a bit small, so I wouldn’t recommend bringing too many clothes.
Service
6.0
The service had its ups and downs. The concierge was exceptionally helpful, guiding me with restaurant bookings and local spots. Conversely, during breakfast, the staff was inattentive, as I waited over half an hour with no one checking on us after the food was served.
Location
10.0
The Dewberry is perfectly located; it’s within walking distance to King Street and right across from Marion Square where there’s a lovely outdoor market on Saturdays. Everything I wanted to explore was easily accessible.
Dining
7.0
I had a chance to dine at Henrietta's, which offers delicious Southern-inspired breakfast, though unfortunately, my orders weren’t all correct. The rooftop bar, The Citrus Club, was fantastic for sunset drinks with amazing city views.
Facilities
8.0
The facilities, like the fitness center, were somewhat lacking as it was a bit small and had limited equipment. However, I did enjoy the inviting bar area where I could unwind with friends before heading out.

6.6/10

My recent stay at The Dewberry Charleston offered a blend of charm and comfort, but it wasn't without its drawbacks. While the lovely room decor and comfortable bed made for a cozy environment, the unexpected views of the parking lot were a letdown. I appreciated the attentive staff and enjoyed the excellent drinks in the Living Room lounge, but I also noted some functional inconveniences in the room. Overall, it was a good visit, yet there are areas for improvement.

Rooms
7.0
The room was beautifully decorated with antique mirrors and sumptuous bedding, though I was disappointed by the view of the parking lot. The furnishings, like the crystal chandelier, were lovely, but functionality could be improved with better soundproofing and essential amenities like a proper coffee maker.
Service
8.0
The staff was incredibly polite and attentive, providing assistance with reservations and car service. However, I felt that the lack of welcome amenities for loyalty members was surprising for a hotel of this caliber. I did miss having someone to escort me to my room and a bit of more proactive service during breakfast.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic, allowing easy access to King Street while remaining away from the hustle and bustle. I enjoyed the convenience of being within walking distance to fabulous restaurants and fun bars, which was a significant plus for my stay.
Dining
8.0
The options available in the Living Room lounge were good, with fantastic drink choices. I didn't dine extensively at the restaurant, but I enjoyed my experience overall in the bar area.
Facilities
7.0
While the hotel boasted a lot of charm, I found the fitness room to be smaller than expected with limited equipment. Additionally, some convenient features like room service and coffee in the room would enhance the guest experience.

My stay at The Dewberry Charleston was generally fantastic; the warm hospitality and stunning room made a big impression. However, my experience at the spa left much to be desired, particularly due to the confusing massage booking and lack of communication from the staff. Overall, though, I would happily return for the excellent service and beautiful accommodations.

Rooms

I stayed in a beautiful 1-bedroom suite that was immaculately clean and featured a huge bathroom with double sinks and a walk-in shower. The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on, and everything was well appointed with great attention to detail.
Service
7.0
The staff were consistently friendly and genuinely welcoming, contributing to a great atmosphere. However, my experience at the spa was disappointing due to miscommunication about the massage duration and the unhelpful response from the front desk staff.
Location

The Dewberry is perfectly placed within walking distance of downtown Charleston and the waterfront. It’s a great spot for exploring the city, although you might need to do some walking to get to certain attractions.
Dining

I enjoyed breakfast at Henrietta’s, where the Southern-inspired dishes were delicious. The hotel's Living Room served as a great space for gathering before heading out, too.
Facilities

The fitness room was smaller than I'd hoped with limited strength training equipment, but the complimentary coffee in the Living Room and the rooftop bar were nice touches.

5.0/10

My stay at The Dewberry was a mix of highs and lows. While the customer service was excellent and the location perfect, there were some noise issues from adjacent rooms and general maintenance oversights that dampened the experience. Overall, I appreciated the boutique luxury feel, but it left me wanting a bit more polish for the price.

Rooms
6.0
The Signature King room was bright and clean, though lacked a desk area, making workspace tricky. The bed was plush but not as supportive as I typically prefer. There were minor maintenance issues, like poor water pressure and the iron being unusable due to missing parts.
Service
8.0
The service from staff was really good; everyone from the valet to the front desk was friendly and helpful. However, at breakfast, our server disappeared after delivering the food, which was disappointing.
Location
10.0
Location was superb, right across from Marion Square and close to restaurants. It was perfect for walking around without being in the middle of all the hustle.
Dining
9.0
Dining experiences at Henrietta's were good, particularly the brunch. The food quality and service there were great, making it a highlight of my stay.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities had some great perks like valet parking and a complimentary car service. However, the fitness room was smaller than I expected with limited equipment.
